BDO Stoy Hayward -Southampton
‘When we moved in to our new offices in Ocean Village, a marina in Southampton, we invited Baxter to select some photographs which showed the beauty and variety, predominantly of the coast and shorelines the south and south west of England. We have a number of photographs in our client-facing suite and in our internal stairwells and landings, and they continue to draw praise and engender discussion from visitors to our offices, such is the richness of colour, the beauty of the scenery and moreover the tranquillity, so welcome in what is the hustle and bustle of much of our daily life at work.’ Kim Hayward Lead partner - BDO LLP in Southampton"
Castle Cover Insurance
When setting up Castle Cover we were looking for a local artist from whom to purchase photographs of local sites of interest for our Boardroom. We have many visitors to the company from all over the country and everyone remarks on the pictures we have displayed of Hengistbury Head in particular. Baxter's pictures are very evocative and certainly the ones we selected to hang in Castle Cover show Dorset at its most beautiful.
The Mount Haven Hotel in Marazion, Cornwall

Observations made about Baxter Bradford’s Photography
Here are some of the publishable observations, which others have made about my work:
This was from someone within the photography industry:
Intriguing I find your images very engaging, with a certain air of mystery and intrigue. When I first look at a new image I take a few minutes to generally appreciate it, then find myself asking where, how, what time, who else was there, how cold?! The images make me wonder about all of these things – there’s a quality about them that has a greater depth than being ‘just' a stunning image. On many of them this depth makes you feel like you are being drawn in, can smell the salt water and hear the waves crashing. On others you can enjoy the total silence and serenity of the landscape.
Heartfelt – I find that within each picture there’s something that tells me you are very observant, aware of your surroundings and crucially, appreciative of them. It’s not just about taking a great image and making money it’s the privilege of being there at the perfect moment and the reward and connection you feel with the landscape. Also, there’s the personality, I think it shows character and a certain sense of mischief that you’ve chosen to make some images in the first place.
Solitude – many of the images create a sense of absolute peace and tranquillity, but possibly a sense of solitude too. Some of them, to me, almost have an air of loneliness – but that could be me!
Others have commented:
‘Baxter portrays scenes in a harmonious and sympathetic manner. His strong, individualistic images frequently possess depth, a sense of design and are highly evocative of place.’
‘His photographs are intriguing, engaging and very atmospheric.’ Frequently the scenes depict serenity and tranquillity, yet others hint at wildness and a willingness to take risks.
Harmonious is the word that immediately springs to mind - having a pleasing combination of colours, shapes, light, balance, and mood
You have a natural eye and sense of place. Key words are - evocative, quirky, strong sense of design, calming, sensitive, unexpected.......
I know it sounds woolly but I always think that Baxter’s images are sympathetic to the subject matter. His images never jar or upset because of poor interpretation of the subject.
